We are deploying some changes to our database servers, we expect this to take around 20 minutes.

The site is undergoing some maintenance over the next 45 minutes, some pages such as user profile pages and designer handover may be inaccessible.

Payments over the Holidays
Hi all, Happy Holidays!
Even though it’s holiday season, payments of payout requests will still be being made within the usual allowed periods (considering public holidays).
We will be processing your requests for the specified methods on the following dates:
PayPal: Thursday 31st December 2009 AND Wednesday 6th January 2010
Western Union, Moneybookers and AlertPay: Wednesday 6th January 2010

Problem Processing Payments (resolved)
We had an outage in our payment processing gateway which caused payment processing to hang on the transaction screen. This is resolved now and payments are processing normally.
Comcast Outage (resolved)
It seems that Comcast users are presently unable to connect to the site. The issue is a network related issue and is somewhere between our hosting provider Amazon and Comcast. They are working to fix the problem.
Planned Outage, Sep 14th 2PM AEST
We will be having a brief site outage this afternoon to upgrade our database servers. During this time the site will be offline.

Western Union Payments (resolved)
Unfortunately we are presently unable to process Western Union payments due to our account being flagged for “interdiction”. What this essentially means is that we have been asked to provide additional documentation about our business to Western Union and then they will review it and unlock our account.
The documentation was provided to Western Union within 24 hours of request and we are now waiting to hear back from them. We are essentially in their hands, and have been told that the approval process is “many layered” and “may take sometime”. Thanks for being patient guys, we understand how frustrating this can be!
If you want to get your payment via some other method, for instance Moneybookers, PayPal or AlertPay, get in touch with prizes@99designs.com and we will help you out. The payout fee will of course be waived for anyone affected.
Update (15th Sep): I was informed by a Western Union representative that they estimated that our account would be active by thursday (17th of Sep). Fingers crossed.
Update (21st Sep): Our account has been re-opened and we are processing payments now. The payout system is accepting request for Western Union payments as well.
